CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS, FILMMAKERS, ARTISTS!

For the FORMAT25 Open Call we welcome diverse and imaginative proposals from international photographers, curators, artists, and collectives to respond to the 2025 festival theme: CONFLICTED. Our eminent jury panel of international experts and the FORMAT Curatorial Team will view the submissions and select up to 5 projects - to reflect the monumental changes and challenges of our contemporary society - to be exhibited at the FORMAT International Photography Festival to be held in Derby, in March 2025.⁠

FORMAT Director Peter Bonnell comments: 'FORMAT International Photography Festival exists to discuss, showcase and celebrate the very best photographic and lens-based media practice from around the world. This 2025 Open Call is a crucial platform for us to be able to support artists, collectives and curators – from the local, to the national and international practitioner – to realise outstanding new projects of work.”
